Our client loved our designs at the pitch presentation last week so we can get into making all the backgrounds, characters and interactive objects.
At this point my main job is background an asset creation which is a lot of fun and I really enjoy it so that’s all that will be posted here for a while. Test animations in CelAction should be happening soon though!
The colouring in the second gif looks a little off- blame TVPaint gif quality and the fact that I haven’t finished it yet but I’m on to the lighting in this shot, so that will but up by tomorrow. (Also his legs aren’t behind the table- that will also be fixed too)
I’ve made a list of all that I need to do in the next 3 weeks and it’s a lot but it’s achievable, I’ve just got to work work work
This is the results of the last two days and it’s going well so far.
These two gifs are mainly animated with a new drawing every two frames but if I’m feeling brave I might inbetween so it’s animated on ones???? crazy I know
Two variations of the colours and brightness that my animation will have. Every time I re-draw this the colours get darker so I just need to settle on a final colour palette.
As I’m setting this in the 80s I wanted to add posters of some of my favourite albums from that era so that’s an interesting little detail.
So here’s the story that I’m hoping to tell- quite inspired by “Black Mirror”. Will I get this all done in time??? We shall find out
I’ve decided my animation is going to have an 80/90s feel to it with chunky computers and that sweet fashion
so we’ve dealt with showing emotion without dislodge so now I have to tackle lip-sync- I’m actually looking forward to it.
These are some concept sketches for my characters, my story is about a techy guy who’s homemade A.I goes wrong.
I’m planning on combining both 2D and 3D for this short cause gotta love those hand drawn backgrounds and I have a new found love for sculpting in 3D. Also the colour palette is going to be very blue (wow can you guess what my favorite colour might be??)
I got some col-erase pencils for Christmas so I can now have those pro animator looking concept sketches
and this is my idea for the setting for my animation. I think the main source light being only the PC monitor will create an interesting atmosphere and aesthetic feel.
